Inside the caves (if accessible) or monasteries, use a high ISO to capture the ancient, fading murals without flash. Return to Lomanthang to document the daily life of the Lopa people, focusing on their traditional dress and the unique texture of their weather-beaten faces.

Retrace your path through the desert, but with a different lighting perspective. Stop at Chhuksang to photograph the riverside caves and the unique rock formations that look like organ pipes. The early morning flight provides one of the best aerial photography opportunities in the world. Secure a window seat (left side Jomsom-Pokhara, right side Pokhara-Kathmandu) to shoot the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from above. The contrast between the dark valleys and bright snow peaks is immense. Back in Kathmandu, use the free afternoon for street photography or reviewing your portfolio.

Visit the wholesale Kalimati or Ason market early in the morning. This is a macro and color photography paradise. Focus on the vibrant piles of vegetables, fruits, and spices. Capture the frenetic energy of the traders and porters. The lighting is often mixed, so adjust your white balance accordingly. It offers a gritty, authentic end to your visual story of Nepal, contrasting with the high-altitude serenity of Mustang.
